It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Amy’s House is decked out for Christmas. It’s our hope that our guests who are lucky enough to receive an organ but unlucky enough to be away from home for the holidays will feel like celebrating in the home-like surroundings we are providing.

We are very proud to announce that for 2023, by the end of November, we had hosted 252 families with 1307 night stays. This is a new record for Amy’s House and is part of the upward trend in occupancy.

Big changes are on the way as well. As of today, December 19, 2023, Amy’s House has 501 (c) (3) status. This means that TRIO will return to a member-run support organization with no board and that the current board of TRIO will become the board of Amy’s House. It should be a smooth transition. We are also slightly restructuring our request for patient donations. Operating Amy’s House costs about $17,000 a month, and the Board would like for patients to take more ownership for helping support the House. We are also in the process of finding better ways for donors to contribute. Stay tuned for all these changes.

The Board and staff of Amy’s House wish all a very merry Christmas and a healthy and happy 2024.
